Commsonic Celebrates 10th Anniversary with New Launch

Cambridge, England

24 August 2010

Broadcast developer Commsonic (www.commsonic.com) announces a double celebration with the launch of its new DVB-T2 modulator and the company's 10th anniversary. Commsonic has been providing technology and specialist engineering services to the broadcast industry for the past ten years and its latest launch of the DVB-T2 modulator has been designed to keep size to an absolute minimum whilst maintaining excellent functionality.
The new DVB-T2 standard is designed for a post-ASO (Analog Switch Off) environment, where DVB-T services are already well-established. The DVB-T2 standard has been implemented to give more robust TV reception and increase capacity by over 30% for single transmitters (as in the UK). It is also expected to increase the maximum bit rate by over 50% in large single-frequency networks (such as in Germany and Spain).
Andy Coates, Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), comments: "This is an exciting launch for us; we have focused on exceptional functionality whilst making every effort to keep the size of the DVB-T2 modulator to an absolute minimum in order to target the low-cost FPGA families." Commsonic will be showcasing the DVB-T2 on stand 5.A19 at the IBC exhibition in Amsterdam (10th - 14th September 2010).
Cambridge based Commsonic is also celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, following steady growth and increased interest from around the world - including clients in Europe, Asia and America. Commsonic develops licensable core technology blocks, ASICs, FPGAs and tools for wireless technologies.
